Bio
Jesutofunmi is a plant scientist with three years of experience working with multinational teams to conduct transformational research, develop improved varieties of cassava, yam and conserve major crops to ensure food security in Sub-Saharan Africa.
She is looking to leverage her research skills and understanding of Africa’s food crisis to collaborate with scientists from diverse backgrounds on innovative agricultural research projects and contribute to building resilient food systems.
She is deeply committed to boosting youth participation in cutting-edge agricultural research and food system transformation. In several African communities, she works with a team to teach agribusiness and digital agriculture, as well as to introduce younger youth to agricultural careers. The combined efforts in three African countries have benefited over 4,000 students and has seen students advance their agricultural careers in colleges, establish profitable agribusinesses, and some others facilitate capacity development for other students.
