CGIAR Gender Equality and Inclusion (GENDER Accelerator) together with Consortium of African Youth in Agriculture and Climate Change (CAYACC) are co-organizing an side event at the Africa Food Systems Forum in Dakar, Senegal.  The event will be held on September 2 at the Knowledge hub.

As we build momentum toward the 2026 Year of the Woman Farmer, this dialogue aims to make a strong case for increased and sustained investment in young women and youth as catalysts for equitable, resilient, and sustainable food, land and water systems. Through showcasing successful gender-responsive, youth-led innovations, participants will explore actionable models and pathways for impact. The event also provides a platform for fostering inclusive dialogue on financing, policy, and research approaches that prioritize equity and representation. By amplifying young women’s voices in agricultural research for development (AR4D), this convening will generate concrete outcomes to inform and influence agendas at national, regional, and global levels.
