Abstract

This report summarises the research work done on ergot (Clayiceos fusiformis Lov.) and smut (Tolyposporium penicillariae Bref.) diseases of pearl millet (Pennisetum americanum (L.) Leeke) from June 1981 to December 1982. For each disease the activities were divided into Biology and epidemiology; Resistance identification, development and utilization; and devising alternative disease control methods
