Identifying and tackling the social determinants of child malnutrition in urban informal settlements and slums in Chile
Abstract
Overnutrition has become an epidemiological problem during the past few decades in many countries. Chilean children have the highest levels of overweight and obesity in Latin America. The aim of this literature review is to clarify these research questions: What are the social determinants of child overnutrition in Chile and Valparaíso? And how effective are any policies, initiatives and networks that are already in place in influencing these determinants in Chile and Valparaíso?
