About the event
This side event will highlight critical gender and youth dimensions within agrifood systems to inform the implementation of the revised UNFCCC Gender Action Plan at COP30. Drawing on evidence and experiences from research and policy practice, it will underscore the importance of inclusive, gender-responsive approaches in advancing climate-resilient food systems. The session will facilitate dialogue among policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to identify actionable pathways for strengthening women’s and youth leadership in transformative climate and agricultural agendas, especially at the national level.
Event objectives
- To contribute to the revision of the UNFCCC Gender Action Plan by providing evidence and insights from the agriculture and food systems sectors.
- To showcase innovative gender- and youth-responsive approaches that strengthen climate adaptation and resilience in agrifood systems.
- To foster dialogue between policymakers, negotiators, researchers, and practitioners on advancing gender equality through climate and agricultural policy coherence.
- To identify actionable pathways and partnerships that promote women’s and youth leadership in achieving transformative, inclusive climate outcomes at national and global levels.
